Do I have to host my website with you?
Hosting with me is optional, but it’s highly recommended if you’d like to take advantage of fast, secure hosting and maintenance. Otherwise, I’ll discuss your hosting options during the web design process.
Can I be on a plan with Design Concoction if my site was designed by someone else?
No, hosting and maintenance plans are exclusive to Design Concoction web design clients. Since I don’t know the current condition of your website, there’ll be an initial fee for setup and for any cleanup or fixes that are required.
What if I want to maintain my own website?
I’ll provide a PDF of maintenance instructions to all clients so that they can maintain their site themselves if they choose to do so.

I’ll already have the basic plugins set up so that the majority of what you’ll need to do is update them regularly, along with the theme and WordPress core. I’ll explain how to do these updates, as well as how to restore a previous backup if there is a problem with one of the updates. I will set up these backups to be stored in my secure Dropbox account, so you will need to switch it to your own account ahead of time if you don’t want to have to pay me to get your backup and restore it for you. If there is malware detected in one of your daily security scans, you will have to contact a company that can clean it for you.

I will also explain how to make updates to your content, such as adding an event, changing your hours, or updating your employee section. If you’re having any difficulties with these content updates I can assist you for $65/hour.

If you later choose to go on a paid maintenance plan with me, there may be an initial additional charge, depending on how much cleanup is needed.

Can I cancel my plan at anytime?
There’s a minimum 6 month commitment for hosting and maintenance plans. When you cancel, I’ll revert your plugins back to the free versions, and you’ll no longer receive the benefits of being on a paid plan. I’m still more than willing to assist you with content support for $80/hour, but will no longer be able to help you with anything security, backup, speed/optimization or SEO related.

To cancel your plan, please email me at kat@designconcoction requesting that your plan be cancelled. Maintenance services will conclude at the end of your last paid month.

How do I pay for a plan?
You’ll be billed monthly or annually. At this time, automatic payments are not available. Your plan runs on a monthly recurring basis. You are free to cancel at any time. Prices are locked in once you activate your subscription. Prices are subject to change, but will only apply to new members.
